WHY YOUR DUA FEELS UNANSWERED

You’ve been making dua for something — maybe for months, maybe for years. You raise your hands, your heart aches, and yet… nothing seems to change. And deep down, you wonder: “Why isn’t Allah answering me?”

Allah Himself says in the Qur’an:

So why does it feel like your dua s are hanging in the air, unheard?

The Prophet ﷺ told us that your dua is always answered — but not always in the way you expect. Sometimes Allah gives you what you asked for, sometimes He delays it for the perfect time, and sometimes He protects you from something harmful instead. And sometimes, He saves your reward for the Day you’ll need it most.

But there’s another truth you need to face: maybe it’s not about Allah not answering, but about how you’re making dua.

• Maybe you’re rushing and giving up too soon.

The Prophet ﷺ said:
"The dua of a servant will continue to be answered so long as he is not hasty."

They asked: "O Messenger of Allah, what does being hasty mean?"
He replied: "It is when he says: ‘I made duz and I made dua, but I do not see that it was answered.’ So he gives up and stops making dua."

• Maybe you’re asking without real presence of heart.

The Prophet ﷺ said:
"Call upon Allah while being certain of being answered, and know that Allah does not respond to a dua from a heart that is heedless and distracted."

• Maybe you’re forgetting the moments when duas are most powerful.

The Prophet ﷺ told us about special times when your duas are almost guaranteed to be accepted:

• In the last third of the night

The Prophet ﷺ said:
"Our Lord descends every night to the lowest heaven when one-third of the night remains, and He says: ‘Who is calling upon Me, so that I may answer him? Who is asking Me, so that I may give him? Who is seeking My forgiveness, so that I may forgive him?’"

• Between adhān and iqāmah

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Dua between the adhān and the iqāmah is not rejected.”

• On Fridays, in the last hour before Maghrib

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“On Friday, there is a time during which no Muslim asks Allah for good except that He gives it to him.”

These are doors Allah Himself has opened for you. Are you knocking on them?

So when we long for our dua to be accepted, we should pay attention to the moments the Prophet ﷺ pointed us to — times when the gates of heaven are wide open and dua is rarely turned away. These are not ordinary hours; they are divine invitations. If we let them slip by, it is like leaving treasures uncollected, blessings unasked for, and doors of mercy unopened.

So don’t let shaytan trick you into thinking your duas are wasted. Every time you raise your hands, every whisper that escapes your lips — it all reaches Allah. Nothing is lost.

But the Prophet ﷺ warned us: don’t be hasty. Sometimes you make dua today, but the answer is written for you tomorrow. Sometimes you beg for something, but Allah knows it will harm you, so He holds it back. And sometimes, what you think is a delay is really Allah preparing you for something greater.

That’s why the believer makes dua with patience and trust. You ask, and you leave the outcome to the One who knows you better than you know yourself.

Allah reminds us of this wisdom:

“But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah knows, while you know not.” (Al-Baqarah 2:216)

So the next time your heart aches because your dua hasn’t been answered, remember — it’s not silence. It’s mercy, it’s wisdom, it’s Allah choosing the right time and the right way for you.

قد تدعو الله بشيء ما منذ وقت طويل — ربما لأشهر، وربما لسنوات. ترفع يديك، ويملأ قلبك الحزن، ومع ذلك… شيء يتغيّر. وفي داخلك يلحّ السؤال: لماذا لا يستجيب الله دعائي؟

: قال الله تعالى

فلماذا نشعر أحيانًا أنّ دعاءنا معلق في السماء، لا يصل ولا يُستجاب؟

أخبرنا الرسول ﷺ أن الدعاء مستجاب دائمًا — لكن ليس بالضرورة بالطريقة التي نتصورها. أحيانًا يعطيك الله ما طلبت، وأحيانًا يؤجله للوقت الأنسب، وأحيانًا يصرف عنك به شرًّا، وأحيانًا يدّخر لك الأجر ليوم أنت أحوج ما تكون فيه

لكن هناك حقيقة أخرى يجب أن نواجهها: ربما المشكلة ليست ان الله لا يستجيب بل في كيف ندعو

: ربما تستعجل وتيأس بسرعة •

قال النبي ﷺ: { يُستجابُ لأحدِكم ما لم يَعجَل، يقولُ: دعوتُ فلم يُستجَبْ لي، فيَدَعُ الدعاءَ }

: ربما تدعو وقلبك غافل •

قال النبي ﷺ: { ادعوا الله وأنتم موقنون بالإجابة، واعلموا أن الله لا يستجيب دعاءً من قلب غافل لاهٍ }

وربما تغفل عن الأوقات التي يكون فيها الدعاء أقرب للإجابة •

: ومن هذه الأوقات التي دلّنا عليها النبي ﷺ

في الثلث الأخير من الليل •

قال النبي ﷺ: { يَنْزِلُ رَبُّنَا تباركَ وتعالى كلَّ ليلةٍ إلى السَّماءِ الدُّنيا حين يبقى ثُلُثُ الليلِ الآخرُ، فيقولُ: من يدعوني فأستجيبَ له؟ من يسألني فأُعطيَه؟ من يستغفرني فأغفرَ له؟ }

ما بين الأذان والإقامة •

قال ﷺ: { الدعاء بين الأذان والإقامة لا يُرَد }

يوم الجمعة، في الساعة الأخيرة قبل المغرب •

قال ﷺ: { فيه ساعةٌ لا يوافقها عبدٌ مسلم وهو قائم يُصلِّي يسأل الله شيئًا إلا أعطاه إياه }

هذه أبواب فتحها الله لك… فهل تطرقها؟

فحين نرجو أن يُستجاب دعاؤنا، ينبغي أن ننتبه لتلك الأوقات التي أشار إليها النبي ﷺ — أوقات تُفتح فيها أبواب السماء، ونادرًا ما يُرد فيها الدعاء. ليست ساعات عادية، بل دعوات ربانية… إن ضاعت منّا، ضاعت كنوز لم نطلبها، وبركات لم نسألها، وأبواب رحمة لم نطرقها

فلا تدع الشيطان يهمس في قلبك أن دعاءك يضيع سدى. كل مرة ترفع فيها يديك، كل كلمة سرية تهمس بها لربك — تصل إليه. لا شيء يضيع

لكن النبي ﷺ حذّرنا: لا تستعجل. قد تدعو اليوم، لكن الإجابة مكتوبة لك غدًا. قد تلحّ في مسألة، لكن الله يعلم أنها ستضرّك، فيمنعها عنك. وأحيانًا، ما تظنه تأخيرًا هو في الحقيقة إعداد إلهي لخير أعظم

ولهذا، فالمؤمن يدعو بصبر وثقة. يسأل، ثم يترك الأمر بين يدي من يعرفه أكثر مما يعرف نفسه

: وقد قال الله تعالى

فالمرة القادمة التي يوجعك قلبك لأن دعاءك لم يُستجب، تذكّر: ليس ذلك إهمالًا من ربك، ولا صمتًا بلا معنى، بل هي رحمة تُخبَّأ لك، وحكمة يعرفها الله وحده. هو سبحانه يختار لك الوقت والطريقة الأنسب، لأنه أعلم بما يصلحك
